or the first 10 months of 2021, “shocks” caused by the Covid-19 pandemic became more and more profound.
Gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2021 decreased by - 6.17%, while the disrupted value
Fchain and lower confidence in consumer sentiment did not recover in the previous two quarters as well as
some fields experienced an “erosion” in profits. In addition, new consumer trends and behaviors emerging from
the pandemic are forecasted to continue lasting in the following years, forcing enterprises to adapt, innovate and
develop response solutions quickly. Entering the recovery phase and making efforts on good production - good
pandemic prevention, Vietnamese enterprises need to determine and flexibly adjust profit targets, thereby
strengthening their brand value and position in the market.

In such a context and within the framework of the announcement of the PROFIT500 Ranking - Top 500 most prof-
itable enterprises in 2021 and honoring typical enterprises in the Top 10 Reputable Companies in the Retail and
Food-Beverage industry, Vietnam Report researched and published Vietnam Earnings Insight 2021, a Bilingual
Report. In addition to the comments on the situation and quality of profit growth of enterprises under the impact
of the Covid-19 pandemic, the report also analyzes the trends and prospects of industries that are likely to accel-
erate in the next new normal. Moreover, the report also assesses risks and strategic solutions to help enterprises
better visualize value chain recovery plans, develop images and strengthen their foothold in the market, thereby
achieving their profit growth target.
