DOANH NGHIỆP LỚN VIỆT NAM VÀ ĐỘNG LỰC TĂNG TRƯỞNG NĂM 2021
FOREWORD
has ended and recorded the great successes of Vietnam in the context of global upheaval.
Thanks to the unanimous efforts of the Government, enterprises and people throughout the
2020country, Vietnam has become a rare country in the world with a positive growth of 2.91%.
The fulfillment of the dual goal - both effective prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic development,
controlling inflation rate at below 4%, making exports and foreign exchange reserves continue to set records, facili-
tating many new-generation FTAs to be signed and take effective, etc. has increased the value of Vietnam’s nation-
al brand by 29% from 2019 to USD 319 billion. Turning into 2021, the world economy is still trying to “heal” the
wounds caused by the pandemic, and Vietnam is also not an exception. However, the steady momentum over the
past years has strengthened the confidence and motivation to develop a prosperous Vietnam in the near future.
In such a context and on the occasion of the 14 th consecutive announcement of the Top 500 Vietnamese largest
enterprises in 2020 - VNR500 as well as honoring the typical enterprises in the Top 10 prestigious companies in
the Pharmaceutical Industry, Tourism - Passenger Transport, Logistics, and Animal Feed, Vietnam Report
researched and published White Paper 2020, a bilingual annual report with the theme “Vietnamese large
Enterprises and Drivers of Growth in 2021”. The research was conducted to learn lessons, solutions to recov-
er the production and business activities before the COVID-19 “storm” of enterprises in general, and development
trends in the context of the “New Normal” of some key industries/sectors in particular. Based on a multi-dimen-
sional perspective of experts and feedback from key enterprises in the VNR500 Ranking, the White Paper also
focuses on analyzing the opportunities, challenges, and growth drivers of enterprises in 2021, especially when the
Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is signed, and there are investment wave shifts; thereby,
making policy recommendations to support enterprises develop sustainably, contributing to accelerating econom-
ic recovery in the post-COVID-19 era.
The Editorial Board of Vietnam Report hopes that the White Paper “Vietnamese large Enterprises and
Drivers of Growth in 2021” released in January 2021 will be a useful reference for the Vietnamese business
